What an OVERWHELMING response Sunday you gave to our opening day of Sack The Pulpit. This is our 9th year to have Sack the Pulpit. It is a simple but significant way to show our compassion to our neighbors and to involve our families, especially our children in helping others during the holidays. It has become an important lifeline for a number of families in our area each year. We will serve 30-50 families from local schools, 20-30 families who frequent The Pantry, another 30-40 families through Grace House with all Thanksgiving food. In addition, if you have a need or know of those who do please let us know. Sunday (November 2) we had 75 bags available – all 75 were taken and another 50 or more could have been. If you did not get a bag Sunday but want to help there are still several ways you can help:
Check out the list below – fill a bag to return on the 16th of November.
2. Make a donation. We will need 75+ turkeys at about $13 a turkey! Give that money marked Sack the Pulpit to Billy, any of the elders or ministers.
3. Enjoy the lovely reward of helping deliver some of this food. It would be a great way to train your kids and talk with them.
Thanks – you are amazing people.
