Last Sunday our shepherds made a bold and exciting announcement about a new approach to our Sundays together. HERE is the link to the actual transcript but here are the simple details:
Beginning immediately we will offer attended nurseries and a Children's Bible Hour on Sunday evenings through the end of the year. This will not affect Sunday mornings.
BEGINNING THE FIRST OF 2014:
1. Sunday mornings will be a time of worship: the service MAY last a little longer but primarily we are going to be more driven by the worship and less by the clock. As it should be. An attended nursery and Children's Bible Hour will be available for small children.
2. All classes will meet on Sunday EVENINGS at 5PM. We will not have Bible classes on Sunday morning, but will have our full slate of classes on Sunday evenings. This will allow our teachers to have more time on Sunday evenings with their lessons. Our students will be more alert. It will also allow us to have more adult offerings. There will be a class in the gymatorium and other smaller classes. We will have a brief "together time" of worship on Sunday evenings which will allow for congregation-wide interaction. The goal is that this approach will make our Sunday evenings more impactful in helping all of us grow spiritually.
3. At least once a month we will have a meal together. We will also continue to have special meals together for outreach events.
We will do this for the 1st quarter of 2014 and evaluate. We want your full feedback after you try it with us for a few weeks. We ask that you try not to form a final opinion before being a part of both the new Sunday morning and evening format and that you not form that final opinion after one week.
We still believe in the power of small groups and invite and encourage any small group Bible studies to continue at times other than when we are meeting as a larger Family. You might meet earlier on Sunday afternoons or after the service on Sunday evenings or some other night of the week.
We will continue to be "outcome oriented" and if you see ways to make this plan work better let us know.

August 11 was a big day for us. Our "Back to School" bash and a special time of prayer from every member for our students. A little over a third of our audience was school age. Elder Tom Campbell led us in a time of honor and prayer for these - our best! Enjoy a few pictures below.
