Welcome

Spring Meadows - a place of vision

We hope you take some time to look around and get a feel for the love we have as a family for each other and for Jesus Christ. There is information about when and where we meet, what we believe, a little about our history and leadership, sermons, bulletins, and so much more. A good place to start is the 'About Us' link in the top menu.

Jim Bill McInteer, Age 88 of Nashville, TN, born June 16, 1921, went home to be with the Lord March 8, 2010. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 2-9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from 12-2 p.m., at Brentwood Hills Church of Christ. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 2 p.m., at Brentwood Hills Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jim Bill and Betty McInteer Scholarship Fund at Harding University.

The following is from Dale Jenkin's blog site:

One of my heroes died today. Brother Jim Bill McInteer was a prince of a man, a gentleman, a man of God’s Word. Where do you start in remembering this godly man?  He casts a long shadow and in the minds of many he's the last of a small group of preachers who so strongly influenced our brotherhood - Ira North, Willard Collins, BC Goodpasture, Batsell Barret Baxter and Jim Bill McInteer. His life entered into so many spheres.  He was a founding force for 21st Century Christian.  He preached for 25 years with a congregation that in it’s heyday was as influential as any (West End in Nashville). He served on the board of directors for Harding University.  It is said that he was on that he served on that board longer than any board member of any private university in America.  He was a friend to and encourager of preachers.  He was an honorary Kentucky Colonel and farmed on his own farm there for roughly 50 years. He’d take every Thursday off and go to the farm. He was the epitome of a faithful Christian husband. When Miss Betty got Alzheimer’s he devoted himself to her care. When she got to where she could no longer get out, he rarely left her side.

As most of you may know a massive, 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti near the capital of Port-au-Prince on Tuesday of this week. The damages to that country are extensive and the number of injured and or dead is estimated to be in the thousands. Here is an opportunity for us to help those in need. If you would like to donate to this cause please make your donation to Spring Meadows Church of Christ, noting Haiti Relief fund in the memo section. Monies collected will be delivered to Healing Hands International – who are currently working on relief efforts. They have a group of folks heading down that way this week.

Additionally in speaking with Sean Judge (Healing Hands International Assistant Shipping Director, Youth Development) they are looking for Church contacts in that area as focal/distribution centers. If you happen to know of anyone in that area, their contact information would be appreciated. You may send their contact information to Dwayne Moore (dmoore27@charter.net) or you may contact Sean directly. His contact information in noted below:

Thanks for your response to this year's theme: Make Something Happen - ACT (Activate Christianity Today)!  What are you going to do that is huge this year? What area do you need to Make Something Happen in your sphere of influence?  Remember to pass one of your "coins" from Sunday on to another person and keep one for yourself as a reminder of this theme!

Sunday was a wonderful day as we witnessed Keith Hart baptize his son, John Austin. What a blessing to be a part of such an marvelous event. We rejoice with John Austin and his family (Keith, Julie, Anna Grace, and Ava Beth) at his decision to become a Christian and name Jesus as his Lord and Savior!
